In 1879 James Buchanan moved to London to work as a sales agent for another whiskey firm. In 1884 he set up James Buchanan & Co.and set out to create the perfect blended Scotch Whisky – a blend that had the perfect balance of body and flavor and he used his name as a personal guarantee. As a result ‘the Buchanan’s blend’ was born.
